This timeline outlines what to expect and the steps you should consider taking in the last 6 months of your lease. 6 MONTHS OUT --------------> RESEARCH YOUR OPTIONS.
Should you LEASE A NEW TOYOTA or BUY YOUR CURRENT VEHICLE?
For some, it may be time to upgrade to the latest and greatest in technology and features, or they simply need something bigger to carry their growing family. Others have built an unbreakable bond with their car (we know some of you do!) and can't imagine parting with it. Find out whether buying or leasing would be the best option for you here.

- We will review with you the details of your lease agreement, discuss your options and answer any questions you may have.
- Stop by to explore all of your options and test drive a new Sweet Ride. Get a feel for your next vehicle and begin budgeting for the transition.
~~IF YOU WANT TO BUY YOUR CURRENT TOYOTA~~
- Schedule an appointment with us prior to your scheduled lease-end date to discuss your decision to finance your lease vehicle or purchase it outright. Our Lease-End Coordinator will review the details of your lease agreement, discuss your options, determine the vehicle's payoff amount, provide any required documentation, and answer any questions you may have.
- Should you decide to finance your vehicle through us and Toyota Financial Services, we encourage you to explore our Toyota Quality Protection Plans. We offer plans that can help protect your investment in the event life takes an unexpected turn.
4 MONTHS OUT --------------> INSPECT VEHICLE.
- The pre-return inspection will help to eliminate any surprises on your final bill. It's a free and easy assessment to determine if your vehicle has acquired any excess wear and/or miles, and allows time to schedule any necessary repairs.
- The optional vehicle inspection is performed by our independent vehicle inspection company, AutoVIN. Call (800) 556-2811 to speak to an AutoVIN specialist or you can schedule your inspection online https://www.autovinlive.com/login/report.
Should you decide to make any vehicle repairs prior to lease-end, we'll assist you.*
- Just be certain to keep all of your receipts for any repairs made and review your insurance policy to see if any items may be covered.
*Under certain circumstances, Toyota Financial Services may elect not to charge for excess wear and use damage.
2 MONTHS OUT --------------> FINALIZE DECISION.
You've researched and test driven, and now it's time to make the final decision! Whether you have decided on a new upgrade or can't bear to part with your current vehicle, Larry H. Miller Toyota Murray will ensure your lease-end is a smooth transition.
~~IF YOU DECIDED TO LEASE A NEW TOYOTA~~
- When returning your clean, leased vehicle to the dealership, you must also bring the following items: tool kit and spare tire, if applicable; all sets of keys (masters/remotes/valet), if applicable; Owner's Manuals; any original equipment on your vehicle at lease inception (radio, headrests, 3rd row seat, tonneau/cargo cover, etc.).
- You are required by law to turn in a completed Odometer Statement at this time. We'll record the mileage but don't forget to sign the statement and ask for a copy!
Satisfy any remaining obligations.
- Satisfy any remaining obligations and amounts owed under your lease.
- It is important to note that when you return your vehicle, charges may be due if your vehicle exceeds normal wear and use or mileage limits per your lease. You will receive a final statement from Toyota Financial Services after the leased vehicle is returned and you're responsible for the payment of any remaining amounts owed under your lease.

- Our Toyota Certified Leasing Experts will walk you through the details of your lease agreement, including the Residual Value and fees that come with lease-end, calculate the current payoff amount, and provide any sales documents that may be necessary to finalize your purchase. Please note: you may owe amounts in addition to the quoted payoff amount
- Submit your payment and any other necessary documentation before your lease-end date.
- Cancel any electronic payments and satisfy any remaining obligations under your lease.
