The sun is finally staying awake past five and the weather is moodier than a toddler without a nap, and we all know what that means—spring is on its way in. With it comes more outdoor activities (sorry skiers and snowboarders) and—our personal favorite—road trips. If you have a spring break around the corner, try venturing to one of these three destinations all within reach of Murray.
Moab
Of course, you’ve likely driven down to Moab before to visit Arches National Park, but this year take a less-than-four-hour trip down and explore a little differently. Instead of waiting in line to get in at the park, head to Potash Road for a trailhead to Bowtie Arch and Corona Arch. The moderate hike is about three miles in and out with views that make you feel like you’re walking on Mars. Unlike the park, your furry friend can come along for the adventure.

Kanab
The nearly-five-hour drive from Murray welcomes a whole new type of experience than the mountains we’re accustomed to. Just 30 minutes outside of Kanab, you’ll run into Coral Pink Sand Dunes State Park. Unlike any other spot in Utah, this park hosts mountains and hills of sand. ATV enthusiasts rejoice—more than 90 percent of the dunes allow you to zip around the sand. For those of you who would rather explore by foot, the whole park is open for hiking.
?Grand CanyonTake in one of the Seven Wonders of the Natural World that is less than eight hours from home. No matter your hiking level, the Grand Canyon National Park offers jaw-dropping views and adventures for all. Feel like taking it easy? Camp in one of the developed campgrounds. Looking for a bigger journey? Backpack through the canyon and camp throughout with a Backcountry permit.
