The North American International Auto Show always gets us excited for the new year, and this year Toyota did not disappoint. We all knew it'd be hard to follow up the redesign of the beloved Toyota Camry, but the company introduced the all-new Toyota Avalon and we're thoroughly impressed. The new model boasts sophistication and style.

The fifth-generation model design was inspired by authenticity and exhilaration and it is apparent with its performance-focused personality. Toyota took the Avalon to the next level with a design similar to other luxury vehicles by making it longer, lower, and wider.

With this new model, you'll now be able to pick from two additional colors-Opulent Amber and Harbor Gray Metallic.

Open the doors to the Avalon and the first thing you'll notice is the simplicity. The amenities are placed purposefully for passengers, including a nine-inch multimedia system and five USB ports for all your charging and connectivity needs.

Available upgrades to the interior include Yamaha-sourced wood trim and aluminum pieces, accent armrests, a center console, and instrument panels. Another new feature is cognac-colored leather surface highlights.

Toyota has you covered when it comes to the technology advances. It comes with Apple CarPlay on all grades, in addition to Entune™ 3.0 Connected Services. These include trials of Safety Connect, Remote Connect, Wi-Fi Connect Powered by Verizon, and Entune™ 3.0 App Suite.

Thinking of the future, Toyota made this model the first with smartwatch or Amazon-Alexa-enabled device connectivity as part of the Remote Connect suite. What does this mean? Unlock or lock doors, start your engine, and check your gas level all by asking your smartwatch or Alexa.

Become more fuel-conscious with this four-cylinder Dynamic Force Engine that is paired with an all-new Toyota Hybrid System II powertrain to conserve fuel while maintaining a thrilling Toyota drive. The new placement of the battery (now under the rear passenger seat) helps lower the center of gravity of the vehicle.

Of course, the most important part of the new ride is the safety features. The incorporation of the Avalon's standard Toyota Safety Sense™ P suite of safety systems and technologies brings Toyota Motor Corporation one step closer to its goal of zero causalities from traffic accidents.

In addition to a standard backup camera, the new Avalon-regardless of grade-comes complete with the Pre-Collision System With Pedestrian Detection, Full-Speed Range Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, Lane Departure Alert With Steering Assist, and Automatic High Beams.
