Up until recently, there has been one constant in hydrogen fuel cell technology. No matter what year it was, hydrogen fuel cell technology was always five years away. That's finally changing thanks in part to the efforts of Toyota and the 2017 Toyota Mirai.

The 2017 Toyota Mirai runs on hydrogen, and its only waste product is water. Toyota knows the Mirai seems like something out of the future; in fact, "Mirai" is Japanese for "future." The 2017 Toyota Mirai can get over 300 miles on a full tank of hydrogen. It gets a combined 66 mpg-e, and refueling the tank takes 3-5 minutes; only slightly longer than filling a tank with gas, and much faster than charging a battery. Toyota also aims to incentivize early-adoption. The 2017 Toyota Mirai comes with free fuel for three years. As a further incentive, the fuel cell system is covered by a warranty of 8-year/100,000 miles.

Unfortunately for any would-be early adopters, the 2017 Toyota Mirai is only available in parts of California. Even if you bought one and sent it somewhere else in the country, you wouldn't be able to use it for very long, since the only Toyota-Mirai-compatible fuel stations are also only in parts of California.

While we don't have the 2017 Toyota Mirai here at Harry H. Miller Toyota, we do have many other quality, reliable Toyota vehicles for sale, all of which can be refilled anywhere in the country—not just in parts of California.
