Adventurers rejoice. Your voice has been heard loud and clear by Toyota. At the Los Angeles Auto Show, the automaker expanded its lineup with a Future Toyota Adventure Concept (FT-AC). From the exterior design to its innovative features, this concept caters to all you thrill-seekers out there.

Scaling at a similar size of Toyota’s existing SUVs and trucks, the FT-AC has a wide stance created by its wide-track and long wheelbase. Complete with all-terrain tires, 20-inch wheels, skid plates to protect the front and rear overhangs, and wide fender flares, the design is both bold and rugged.
If biking is your activity of choice, you’ll no longer need to drag your rack around when you have no need for it. The FT-AC comes with an integrated bike rack that easily stows away when you don’t need it.
One of the most exciting features of this new concept is the ability to remove certain parts of the car and use them separately. For example, the fog lights can be taken out to be used as a portable camping lamp, or you can attach them to your mountain bike for a late-night ride. Infrared cameras are in the side mirrors to record your drives, but they can also be removed to record elsewhere. If you show up to pitch your tent late, light your way with the LED lights in the safari-style cargo rack.

For those looking to take the FT-AC on off-roading journeys, this vehicle will provide you with Wi-Fi connectivity so you can go live or upload your footage to cloud-based storage. You can focus on the thrill of driving while having the ability to show off your adventures to all your friends.
The FT-AC will be all-wheel drive and have variable terrain-response settings available. Plus, it’ll have a four-wheel lock functionality that maximizes the grip at each wheel to create a more dynamic and stable driving experience.
Worried about gas mileage? There is a possibility of a hybrid powertrain to maximize fuel efficiency without compromising the excitement of off-roading. But we’ll have to wait for confirmation from the manufacturer to know whether or not this feature will be implemented.
Though we may have a bit to wait for this Los Angeles Auto Show concept from Toyota to be on the roads, we’re lucky to have many options available to take on the journeys of the open road (or mountain).
