School is almost back in session. While we are longing for those fun summer days, we know it’s time to start making those preparations in order to make sure your child is ready to take on the new year. We put together a list of 10 preparations you should make before sending your little ones off to learn!
1) Purchase New Clothing. This is a great time of year to go through your kids’ closets and clean out items that no longer fit or are destroyed. Then head on out to your favorite retailer and find some new threads for the new year!
2) School Supplies. Most schools will provide you with a list of needed items. You’ll want to make sure you grab the necessities like pens, pencils, and notebooks, but be sure to keep an eye on the list for any special items required.
3) Don’t Forget the Backpack. Your kids are going to need a place to carry around all their school supplies and lunches!
4) Gather Your Lunch Containers. This is another great way to get rid of some clutter around the house. Go through your cabinets and make sure all your Tupperware containers have the matching lids. Or go out and purchase the specially-made lunch packs that easily separate the different parts of the meal.
5) Get That Much-Needed Haircut. School pictures will come up quick and you’ll want to make sure your kids are camera-ready!
6) Start a Bedtime. The first day of school won’t be too difficult if your kids are already accustomed to their bedtime. Start a few weeks before the school year so they are fully acclimated.
7) Collect and Post Your Child’s Schedule. This is especially helpful if you have multiple children with different schedules. Drop-off and pick-up times are important for you to remember. But it’s also important for older kids to remember their schedules where they change classrooms often.
8) Create a Calendar. Keep your family organized by creating a calendar of all school schedules, activities, and holidays.
9) Throw an End of Summer Party. Going back to school is never easy, but those summer memories can last forever. Whether you want to have a BBQ in your backyard or take a camping trip, plan a last hurrah before school gets started.
10) Buy a New Toyota. With all of the activities your kids are sure to join, you’re going to need more space! Stop on by and check out all our available options.
We are always sad to see summer end, but new beginnings bring so many opportunities. Your children will grow and learn and we want to be here to see the journey.
